Introduction

My name is Ilse Atkinson and I'm from Los Angeles, California.
My current major is Political Science, but I am considering switching to American Studies or Sociology because I am interested in cultural and ethnic studies.
This quarter I hope to get acclimated to living in Davis and college life in general. I look forward to delving deeper into the subjects I'm taking classes in, which include Gender Studies and Native American Studies, along with Images in America. I am also really excited to be working at KDVS, where I'll be training to be a DJ, and hopefully will have my own radio show by Winter quarter.
Throughout middle and high school I played cello in several different student orchestras. I also wrote for the school newspaper, and participated in model congress. I've been a vegetarian for the past four years, which has been extremely easy to maintain here in Davis. I'm not particularly athletically talented myself, but I'm a huge Laker fan.
